Shochiku launches its official English Kabuki website

Shochiku Corporation launched its official English Kabuki website on Aug 13th, 2010.

In spite of the fact that Kabuki is one of the few uniquely Japanese entertainment forms that non-Japanese visitors can already enjoy even without understanding the Japanese language, thanks to the English Earphone Guide service, so far it's been difficult for Non-Japanese Kabuki fans to get information, and book tickets by themselves.

With this English site, they can get information on Kabuki performances and can also book Kabuki tickets easily on the web, even from overseas, when they plan a visit to Japan.

Shochiku Corporation has been supporting this unique Japanese art form for more than 100 years, and has been the only commercial company to do so. It is committed to continue in this field. With this English site, Shochiku will show the world that Kabuki is still a vital entertainment form, despite its 400 year history. Shochiku wishes to contribute to the appeal of Tokyo as an attractive travel destination around the world.
